Privacy Policy
MX Labs builds apps, games, and small software experiments. This policy explains how MX Labs products handle information, including where individual products have different privacy practices.
Summary
Privacy behavior can vary slightly by product. MX Labs aims to collect as little information as reasonably necessary for each app or game to work. Many MX Labs utilities perform their core processing on your Mac. MX Labs apps do not require an MX Labs account unless a future product explicitly says otherwise.
Product-specific differences are described in the sections below. When a product uses Apple services such as the App Store, StoreKit, Game Center, or iCloud, Apple may process information under its own privacy practices. If you email support, we receive only what you choose to send, plus ordinary email metadata.
Who we are
MX Labs develops Mac apps, games, and related software. This policy covers MX Labs products and the mxlabs.app website unless a product page links to a separate policy for a dedicated site.
General principles
- We try to design products that work without collecting unnecessary personal information.
- Many utilities process the content you provide locally on your device for their primary function.
- MX Labs does not operate a universal sign-in or account system across its products today.
- Where behavior differs — for example, a game using Apple platform services — the product section below is the source of truth.
- We do not sell personal information.
Product-specific privacy
The following sections describe how each MX Labs product handles information today. For shared Apple service behavior, see Apple services and purchases.
TextCase
TextCase is a Mac menu bar utility for transforming text. Transforms run on your Mac. The app does not upload your text to MX Labs servers, does not require an MX Labs account, and does not require a login.
TextCase may read from or write to the system clipboard when you use Paste, Copy Result, or Paste + Transform. Clipboard contents are not sent to MX Labs.
TextCase stores settings, draft workspace text, and Recents locally using standard macOS storage (such as UserDefaults). Recents can be cleared in the app. The app is not designed to include advertising identifiers or product analytics SDKs.
TextCase is available free on the Mac App Store. See Apple services and purchases for App Store download behavior.
QRDev
QRDev is a Mac menu bar utility for generating QR codes from URLs you provide. You enter or
paste http or https links, choose export options, and copy or save
the resulting image. QRDev does not require an MX Labs account.
QR codes are generated on your Mac from the URL you supply. QRDev can store a local Library of saved entries, search history, and preferences such as theme and default export format on your device.
QRDev Plus is an optional one-time App Store purchase that unlocks high-resolution PNG, SVG, and PDF export and saved custom styling on library entries. Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit; MX Labs does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.
If QRDev opens a link you choose (for example, documentation) in your browser, that destination has its own policies.
SoundSwap
SoundSwap is a Mac audio-conversion utility. It converts between MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and OGG using files you explicitly select or drop onto the app. Conversion is performed on your Mac; audio files are not uploaded to MX Labs servers for processing.
SoundSwap does not require an MX Labs account. Preferences such as default output format, destination folder, bitrate settings, and theme may be stored locally on your Mac.
Single-file conversion is free. SoundSwap Plus is a non-consumable App Store purchase that unlocks batch conversion. Purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit; MX Labs does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.
HexDrop
HexDrop is a Mac menu bar color picker. It samples colors on screen using Apple’s built-in color sampler and lets you copy values in formats such as HEX, RGB, HSL, and CMYK. Color picking and format conversion for your workflow happen on your Mac.
HexDrop stores preferences and color history locally on your device. You can copy, delete, and reorder history entries in the app. HexDrop is sold as a one-time Mac App Store purchase; payment is processed by Apple. MX Labs does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.
HexDrop does not currently synchronize your data through iCloud or MX Labs cloud services in the shipping version of the app.
Orbit Drive
Orbit Drive is an arcade game developed by MX Labs. You can play without creating an MX Labs account. Game progress, unlocks, preferences, and settings may be stored locally on your device.
Orbit Drive is free to play on supported Apple platforms. If in-app purchases or App Store distribution apply, those transactions are handled by Apple through StoreKit. MX Labs does not receive your full payment-card information from Apple.
The game may rely on Apple-provided platform tools for stability, such as diagnostic or crash reporting, depending on your device settings and the version you install. Apple processes information associated with those services under Apple’s privacy practices.
The Orbit Drive product website (orbitdrive.app) has its own hosting and analytics practices, separate from the game binary and from mxlabs.app. See that site’s policy for website-specific details.
Little Gravity
Little Gravity is an upcoming adventure arcade game developed by MX Labs. You will be able to play without creating an MX Labs account.
When Little Gravity becomes available through the App Store, Apple will handle distribution and related App Store information under Apple’s privacy practices. See Apple services and purchases.
Progress, preferences, and settings are expected to be stored locally on your device when the game ships. This section will be updated if the shipping version introduces additional practices.
Privacy questions about Little Gravity can be sent to support@mxlabs.app.
Lift
Lift is an upcoming falling-pair puzzle game developed by MX Labs. You will be able to play without creating an MX Labs account.
When Lift becomes available through the App Store, Apple will handle distribution and related App Store information under Apple’s privacy practices. See Apple services and purchases.
Progress, preferences, and settings are expected to be stored locally on your device when the game ships. This section will be updated if the shipping version introduces additional practices.
Privacy questions about Lift can be sent to support@mxlabs.app.
Apple services and purchases
Several MX Labs products are distributed through Apple’s App Store or use Apple platform services. This section describes behavior common to those integrations. Product sections above describe what each app does on your device; this section describes services operated by Apple.
- Mac App Store / App Store — Apple processes download, purchase, and related App Store information under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
- StoreKit / in-app purchases — When you buy an unlock or add-on inside an app, Apple handles payment processing. MX Labs may receive limited purchase or entitlement information needed to unlock features or restore purchases, but not your full payment-card details.
- Game Center — If a product uses Game Center (for example, for leaderboards or achievements), Apple processes associated account and gameplay information under Apple’s policies. MX Labs does not receive your Game Center credentials.
- iCloud / CloudKit — If a product adds iCloud synchronization in a future release, that sync is performed through Apple’s services and may involve your iCloud account. The product section will be updated when such a feature ships.
- Links in your browser — Apps may open documentation, support, or other links you choose in your default browser. Those sites have their own policies.
MX Labs does not control Apple’s collection, retention, or use of information processed through Apple-operated services. Please review Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.
MX Labs website
Visiting mxlabs.app is separate from using an MX Labs app on your Mac or other device. The website does not receive the text, audio, or other content you process locally inside MX Labs utilities.
The mxlabs.app site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare and our hosting infrastructure may process standard request information — such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL — for delivery, security, and reliability.
On the production domain mxlabs.app, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site traffic and improve the website. Analytics is not loaded on local or preview environments. Google processes usage data according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Some pages may store small preferences in your browser, such as whether you dismissed an
announcement bar, using localStorage. Pages may load external resources such as
Google Fonts and, on some pages, icon scripts from a CDN.
Product-specific websites (for example, hexdrop.app, qrdev.app, or orbitdrive.app) may use different hosting or analytics tools. Those sites are covered by their own policies.
Children
MX Labs products are general-audience software and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our apps. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support email or similar channel, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Data retention, deletion, and privacy choices
Locally stored app data can generally be removed through the app’s own reset or clear features where available — for example, clearing Recents in TextCase — through normal macOS or iOS app-data behavior, or by uninstalling the app.
Support emails can be deleted or addressed on request by contacting MX Labs. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to respond and maintain ordinary business records.
Information managed by Apple — such as App Store purchase history, Game Center data, or iCloud data if a product adds sync — may need to be managed through your Apple account or device settings. Uninstalling an MX Labs app does not necessarily delete information already held by Apple or another service provider.
When a product adds cloud storage or synchronization, we will describe more specific controls in that product’s section of this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as MX Labs products, the website, or our practices change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of a product after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
